Bringing Contemporary Philosophy of Religion to Latin
American Scholars

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Contemporary Philosophy of Religion in the Anglophone world has been an extremely
prolific field of the discipline in the last half century. This renaissance has produced an
immense literature, as a long and rich list of companions and anthologies of published
work attests. However, there has been no such renaissance in Latin America: analytic
philosophy of religion is almost non-existent in Spanish speaking countries and, incredibly,
almost none of its literature has been translated into Spanish.
Our project aims to address this urgent need of philosophy departments from Latin
America and the Spanish speaking world, making available to academics and students the
most important and distinctive contributions that have been made in this field within the
anglophone world. In particular, our project will publish first Companion and the first
Anthology to Contemporary Philosophy of Religion in the Spanish speaking world. Leading
to the publication of these volumes, our project will also organize two workshops on the
Companion and publish a special issue with the workshops contributions.
